The Dabney's
Megan Dabney with my two inspirations, Will and Lexi. Both Will and Lexi have severe autism that presents in very different ways. They also both have epilepsy.
Will is older. He is nonverbal and requires a lot of assistance with ADLs. He can have aggressive behaviors but mostly they are self-inflicted and due to being overstimulated in some way. Most of the time he is a big teddy bear.
Lexi is the baby of the family. She has some language. She is a little hard to understand if you are not familiar with her. She can help by spelling things verbally and in sign language. Lexi has some major aggressive behaviors both to herself and to others.
Between them both we have seen it all. School systems, waivers (CIH and FSW), loss of services, wrap around, stabilization, and residential. Both are now out of school so we are navigating the adult world.
